Rhyme Scheme: A B CDED FFFF FGFH IJKJ FFFF FLML

God holy just and sovereignA
-
JobB
-
How should the sons of Adam's raceC
Be pure before their GodD
If he contend in righteousnessE
We fall beneath his rodD
-
To vindicate my words and thoughtsF
I'll make no more pretenceF
Not one of all my thousand faultsF
Can bear a just defenceF
-
Strong is his arm his heart is wiseF
What vain presumer's dareG
Against their Maker's hand to riseF
Or tempt th' unequal warH
-
Mountains by his almighty wrathI
From their old seats are tornJ
He shakes the earth from south to northK
And all her pillars mournJ
-
He bids the sun forbear to riseF
Th' obedient sun forbearsF
His hand with sackcloth spreads the skiesF
And seals up all the starsF
-
He walks upon the stormy seaF
Flies on the stormy windL
There's none can trace his wondrous wayM
Or his dark footsteps findL
