Hymn 83 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B CDCA EFEF GHIJ KLKM

Afflictions and death under ProvidenceA
-
JobB
-
Not from the dust affliction growsC
Nor troubles rise by chanceD
Yet we are born to cares and woesC
A sad inheritanceA
-
As sparks break out from burning coalsE
And still are upwards borneF
So grief is rooted in our soulsE
And man grows up to mournF
-
Yet with my God I leave my causeG
And trust his promised graceH
He rules me by his well known lawsI
Of love and righteousnessJ
-
Not all the pains that e'er I boreK
Shall spoil my future peaceL
For death and hell can do no moreK
Than what my Father pleaseM
