The strength of Christ's loveB

SSC
-
Who is this fair one in distressC
That travels from the wildernessC
And pressed with sorrows and with sinsC
On her beloved Lord she leansC
-
This is the spouse of Christ our GodD
Bought with the treasure of his bloodE
And her request and her complaintF
Is but the voice of every saintF
-
O let my name engraven standG
Both on thy heart and on thy handG
Seal me upon thine arm and wearH
That pledge of love for ever thereH
-
Stronger than death thy love is knownI
Which floods of wrath could never drownJ
And hell and earth in vain combineK
To quench a fire so much divineK
-
But I am jealous of my heartL
Lest it should once from thee departL
Then let thy name be well impressedM
As a fair signet on my breastM
-
Till thou hast brought me to thy homeN
Where fears and doubts can never comeO
Thy count'nance let me often seeC
And often thou shalt hear from meC
-
Come my Beloved haste awayP
Cut short the hours of thy delayP
Fly like a youthful hart or roeQ
Over the hills where spices growQ
