Hymn 77 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA B BBCC DEFF GHII JJKK BBLL

The love of Christ to the church in his language to herA
and provisions for herA
-
SSB
-
Now in the galleries of his graceB
Appears the King and thus he saysB
How fair my saints are in my sightC
My love how pleasant for delightC
-
Kind is thy language sovereign LordD
There's heav'nly grace in every wordE
From that dear mouth a stream divineF
Flows sweeter than the choicest wineF
-
Such wondrous love awakes the lipG
Of saints that were almost asleepH
To speak the praises of thy nameI
And makes our cold affections flameI
-
These are the joys he lets us knowJ
In fields and villages belowJ
Gives us a relish of his loveK
But keeps his noblest feast aboveK
-
In Paradise within the gatesB
A higher entertainment waitsB
Fruits new and old laid up in storeL
Where we shall feed but thirst no moreL
