Hymn 6 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B CDCD EFGH IJKJ LMNM OPOP

Triumph over deathA
-
JobB
-
Great God I own thy sentence justC
And nature must decayD
I yield my body to the dustC
To dwell with fellow clayD
-
Yet faith may triumph o'er the graveE
And trample on the tombsF
My Jesus my Redeemer livesG
My God my Savior comesH
-
The mighty Conqueror shall appearI
High on a royal seatJ
And death the last of all his foesK
Lie vanquished at his feetJ
-
Though greedy worms devour my skinL
And gnaw my wasting fleshM
When God shall build my bones againN
He clothes them all afreshM
-
Then shall I see thy lovely faceO
With strong immortal eyesP
And feast upon thy unknown graceO
With pleasure and surpriseP
