The Holy ScripturesA
-
Heb Tim PsaA
-
God who in various methods toldB
His mind and will to saints of oldB
Sent down his Son with truth and graceA
To teach us in these latter daysA
-
Our nation reads the written wordC
That book of life that sure recordD
The bright inheritance of heav'nE
Is by the sweet conveyance giv'nE
-
God's kindest thoughts are here expressedF
Able to make us wise and bless'dF
The doctrines are divinely trueG
Fit for reproof and comfort tooG
-
Ye British isles who read his loveH
In long epistles from aboveH
He hath not sent his sacred wordC
To every land praise ye the LordD
