Christ's dying rising and reigningA
-
Luke Mt ffB
-
He dies the friend of sinners diesC
Lo Salem's daughters weep aroundD
A solemn darkness veils the skiesC
A sudden trembling shakes the groundD
-
Come saints and drop a tear or twoE
For him who groaned beneath your loadF
He shed a thousand drops for youE
A thousand drops of richer bloodG
-
Here's love and grief beyond degreeH
The Lord of glory dies for menI
But lo what sudden joys we seeH
Jesus the dead revives againI
-
The rising God forsakes the tombJ
The tomb in vain forbids his riseC
Cherubic legions guard him homeK
And shout him welcome to the skiesC
-
Break off your fears ye saints and tellL
How high our great Deliv'rer reignsM
Sing how he spoiled the hosts of hellL
And led the monster Death in chainsM
-
Say Live for ever wondrous KingA
Born to redeem and strong to saveB
Then ask the monster Where's thy stingA
And Where's thy vict'ry boasting GraveB
