Hymn 4 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDE FGFG HIHI JKLK DMBM

Salvation in the crossA
-
Here at thy cross my dying GodB
I lay my soul beneath thy loveC
Beneath the droppings of thy bloodD
Jesus nor shall it e'er removeE
-
Not all that tyrants think or sayF
With rage and lightning in their eyesG
Nor hell shall fright my heart awayF
Should hell with all its legions riseG
-
Should worlds conspire to drive me thenceH
Moveless and firm this heart should lieI
Resolved for that's my last defenceH
If I must perish there to dieI
-
But speak my Lord and calm my fearJ
Am I not safe beneath thy shadeK
Thy vengeance will not strike me hereL
Nor Satan dares my soul invadeK
-
Yes I'm secure beneath thy bloodD
And all my foes shall lose their aimM
Hosannah to my dying GodB
And my best honors to his nameM
