The nativity of ChristA
-
Luke ffB
-
Shepherds rejoice lift up your eyesC
And send your fears awayD
News from the regions of the skiesC
Salvation's born to dayD
-
Jesus the God whom angels fearE
Comes down to dwell with youF
Today he makes his entrance hereG
But not as monarchs doF
-
No gold nor purple swaddling bandsH
Nor royal shining thingsI
A manger for his Cradle standsH
And holds the King of kingsI
-
Go shepherds where the infant liesC
And see his humble throneJ
With tears of joy in all your eyesC
Go shepherds kiss the SonK
-
Thus Gabriel sang and straight aroundL
The heav'nly armies throngM
They tune their harps to lofty soundL
And thus conclude the songM
-
Glory to God that reigns aboveB
Let peace surround the earthN
Mortals shall know their Maker's loveB
At their Redeemer's birthN
-
Lord and shall angels have their songsO
And men no tunes to raiseP
O may we lose our useless tonguesQ
When they forget to praiseP
-
Glory to God that reigns aboveB
That pitied us forlornR
We join to sing our Maker's loveB
For there's a Savior bornR
