Hymn 32 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B CDED FGHI JEKE LMNM OPQR

Strength from heavenA
-
IsaB
-
Whence do our mournful thoughts ariseC
And where's our courage fledD
Have restless sin and raging hellE
Struck all our comforts deadD
-
Have we forgot th' almighty nameF
That formed the earth and seaG
And can an all creating armH
Grow weary or decayI
-
Treasures of everlasting mightJ
In our Jehovah dwellE
He gives the conquest to the weakK
And treads their foes to hellE
-
Mere mortal power shall fade and dieL
And youthful vigor ceaseM
But we that wait upon the LordN
Shall feel our strength increaseM
-
The saints shall mount on eagles' wingsO
And taste the promised blissP
Till their unwearied feet arriveQ
Where perfect pleasure isR
