Hymn 30 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B CDED FGHG IJKJ LMNM ODPQ RSTS

Prayer for deliverance answeredA
-
IsaB
-
In thine own ways O God of loveC
We wait the visits of thy graceD
Our soul's desire is to thy nameE
And the remembrance of thy faceD
-
My thoughts are searching Lord for theeF
'Mongst the black shades of lonesome nightG
My earnest cries salute the skiesH
Before the dawn restore the lightG
-
Look how rebellious men derideI
The tender patience of my GodJ
But they shall see thy lifted handK
And feel the scourges of thy rodJ
-
Hark the Eternal rends the skyL
A mighty voice before him goesM
A voice of music to his friendsN
But threat'ning thunder to his foesM
-
Come children to your Father's armsO
Hide in the chambers of my graceD
Till the fierce storms be overblownP
And my revenging fury ceaseQ
-
My sword shall boast its thousands slainR
And drink the blood of haughty kingsS
While heav'nly peace around my flockT
Stretches its soft and shady wingsS
