Hymn 20 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B CDED FGHG IJKJ LMGN OPQR STUT

Spiritual apparelA
-
IsaB
-
Awake my heart arise my tongueC
Prepare a tuneful voiceD
In God the life of all my joysE
Aloud will I rejoiceD
-
'Tis he adorned my naked soulF
And made salvation mineG
Upon a poor polluted wormH
He makes his graces shineG
-
And lest the shadow of a spotI
Should on my soul be foundJ
He took the robe the Savior wroughtK
And cast it all aroundJ
-
How far the heav'nly robe exceedsL
What earthly princes wearM
These ornaments how bright they shineG
How white the garments areN
-
The Spirit wrought my faith and loveO
And hope and every graceP
But Jesus spent his life to workQ
The robe of righteousnessR
-
Strangely my soul art thou arrayedS
By the great Sacred ThreeT
In sweetest harmony of praiseU
Let all thy powers agreeT
