Hymn 15 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B CCDE FFGG HHII JKLM NOLL

Our own weakness and Christ our strengthA
-
CorB
-
Let me but hear my Savior sayC
Strength shall be equal to thy dayC
Then I rejoice in deep distressD
Leaning on all sufficient graceE
-
I glory in infirmityF
That Christ's own power may rest on meF
When I am weak then am I strongG
Grace is my shield and Christ my songG
-
I can do all things or can bearH
All suff'rings if my Lord be thereH
Sweet pleasures mingle with the painsI
While his left hand my head sustainsI
-
But if the Lord be once withdrawnJ
And we attempt the work aloneK
When new temptations spring and riseL
We find how great our weakness isM
-
So Samson when his hair was lostN
Met the Philistines to his costO
Shook his vain limbs with sad surpriseL
Made feeble fight and lost his eyesL
