Hymn 14 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A A BCDC EFEF AGAG HHII JJKL IEAA

The triumph of faith or Christ's unchangeable loveA
-
Rom ffA
-
Who shall the Lord's elect condemnB
'Tis God that justifies their soulsC
And mercy like a mighty streamD
O'er all their sins divinely rollsC
-
Who shall adjudge the saints to hellE
'Tis Christ that suffered in their steadF
And the salvation to fulfilE
Behold him rising from the deadF
-
He lives he lives and sits aboveA
For ever interceding thereG
Who shall divide us from his loveA
Or what should tempt us to despairG
-
Shall persecution or distressH
Famine or sword or nakednessH
He that hath loved us bears us throughI
And makes us more than conquerors tooI
-
Faith hath an overcoming powerJ
It triumphs in the dying hourJ
Christ is our life our joy our hopeK
Nor can we sink with such a propL
-
Not all that men on earth can doI
Nor powers on high nor powers belowE
Shall cause his mercy to removeA
Or wean our hearts from Christ our loveA
