Against Quarreling And Fighting Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEFE GHGH ICJC KLKL

Let dogs delight to bark and biteA
For God hath made them soB
Let bears and lions growl and fightA
For 'tis their nature tooC
-
But children you should never letD
Such angry passions riseE
Your little hands were never madeF
To tear each other's eyesE
-
Let love through all your actions runG
And all your words be mildH
Live like the blessed Virgin's SonG
That sweet and lovely childH
-
His soul was gentle as a lambI
And as his stature grewC
He grew in favor both with manJ
And God his Father tooC
-
Now Lord of all he reigns aboveK
And from his heavenly throneL
He sees what children dwell in loveK
And marks them for his ownL
