Take up the swordA
And stab into the heartB
Trample the enemyC
Care not for their partB

Pick up the bowD
And shoot at the headE
Down the horizonF
Leave them for deadE

Handle the spearG
And pierce through their chestH
Throw them asideI
Move without restH

For you are the heroJ
Of your story bestowedK
With valor in mindL
Lift the loadK

They are a failing knightM
Who might have a familyC
But glory is uprightM
Take from them victoryC

Poet's note: This piece was written on April 3, 2021. It is inspired by a story I read again after some time. A hero is only considered one to the people one protects. This is a weird and off-putting thought to me.
