light at the end of the tunnel
nightly pangs welcome morning glory
a flag down and one up

1970:
warring siblings thaw their angst
wobbling paths to new beginnings

1980:
all glory grow pale
in midst of abundance
austere measure trap its bait

1990:
stifled silence in military midst
democracy dabbled in dripping drapes
then set free

2000:
millennial journey to paths unknown
bustling ideas of growth and boom
then doom

2010:
born poor and no shoe syndrome
tagging along without clue
wobbling still in deepest hue

2020:
pandemic pandemonium takes the stage
a dance a ballad a new chinko samba

2030:
in late fifties my age will be
hoping then that we'll be free
from this entrapment of time
