Rhyme Scheme: AAB CDCDEFEF GHGHICIC JKJKLMNM OCOCPQPQ CRCRSTSS

Kill not for Pity's sake and lest ye slayA
The meanest thing upon its upward wayA
Five Rules of BuddhaB
-
-
I watch you through the garden walksC
I watch you float betweenD
The avenues of dahlia stalksC
And flicker on the greenD
You hover round the garden seatE
You mount you waver WhyF
Why storm us in our still retreatE
O saffron ButterflyF
-
Across the room in loops of flightG
I watch you wayward goH
Dance down a shaft of glancing lightG
Review my books a rowH
Before the bust you flaunt and flitI
Of blind M onidesC
Ah trifler on his lips there litI
Not butterflies but beesC
-
You pause you poise you circle upJ
Among my old JapanK
You find a comrade on a cupJ
A friend upon a fanK
You wind anon a breathing whileL
Around AMANDA'S browM
Dost dream her then O VolatileN
E'en such an one as thouM
-
Away Her thoughts are not as thineO
A sterner purpose fillsC
Her steadfast soul with deep designO
Of baby bows and frillsC
What care hath she for worlds withoutP
What heed for yellow sunQ
Whose endless hopes revolve aboutP
A planet tat OneQ
-
Away Tempt not the best of wivesC
Let not thy garish wingR
Come fluttering our Autumn livesC
With truant dreams of SpringR
Away Re seek thy Flowery LandS
Be Buddha's law obeyedT
Lest Betty's undiscerning handS
Should slay a future PRAEDS
