The Milkmaid. A New Song To An Old Tune. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE CGHGDEFE IJKJDEFE LMBMDEFE GNONDEFE

Across the grass I see her passA
She comes with tripping paceB
A maid I know and March winds blowC
Her hair across her faceB
With a hey Dolly ho DollyD
Dolly shall be mineE
Before the spray is white with MayF
Or blooms the eglantineE
-
The March winds blow I watch her goC
Her eye is brown and clearG
Her cheek is brown and soft as downH
To those who see it nearG
With a hey Dolly ho DollyD
Dolly shall be mineE
Before the spray is white with MayF
Or blooms the eglantineE
-
What has she not that those have gotI
The dames that walk in silkJ
If she undo her 'kerchief blueK
Her neck is white as milkJ
With a hey Dolly ho DollyD
Dolly shall be mineE
Before the spray is white with MayF
Or blooms the eglantineE
-
Let those who will be proud and chillL
For me from June to JuneM
My Dolly's words are sweet as curdsB
Her laugh is like a tuneM
With a hey Dolly ho DollyD
Dolly shall be mineE
Before the spray is white with MayF
Or blooms the eglantineE
-
Break break to hear O crocus spearG
O tall Lent lilies flameN
There'll be a bride at Easter tideO
And Dolly is her nameN
With a hey Dolly ho DollyD
Dolly shall be mineE
Before the spray is white with MayF
Or blooms the eglantineE
