Rhyme Scheme: A BB A CCDD E EFFGE HHB HH AAIIJKLMNNO BBB B

Emam tua carmina sanus MARTIALA
-
F OF H I want a verse It gives you little painsB
You just sit down and draw upon your brainsB
-
Come now be amiableA
-
R To hear you talkC
You'd make it easier to fly than walkC
You seem to think that rhyming is a thingD
You can produce if you but touch a springD
-
That fancy fervour passion and what notE
-
Are just a case of penny in the slotE
You should reflect that no evasive birdF
Is half so shy as is your fittest wordF
And even similes however wroughtG
Like hares before you cook them must be caughtE
-
Impromptus too require elaborationH
And unlike eggs grow fresh by incubationH
Then as to epigramsB
-
F of H Nay nay I've doneH
I did but make petition You make funH
-
R Stay I am grave Forgive me if I rambleA
But then a negative needs some preambleA
To break the blow I feel with you in truthI
These complex miseries of Age and YouthI
I feel with you and none can feel it moreJ
Than I this burning Problem of the PoorK
The Want that grinds the Mystery of PainL
The Hearts that sink and never rise againM
How shall I set this to some careless screedN
Or jigging stave when Help is what you needN
Help Help more HelpO
-
F of H I fancied that with easeB
You'd scribble off some verses that might pleaseB
And so give help to usB
-
R Why then TAKE THESEB
