The Curë©'s Progress. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB BDED DDFD GHHH IHJH KDLH LMLM HHCH

Monsieur the Cur down the streetA
Comes with his kind old faceB
With his coat worn bare and his straggling hairC
And his green umbrella caseB
-
You may see him pass by the little Grande PlaceB
And the tiny H 'tel de VilleD
He smiles as he goes to the fleuriste RoseE
And the pompier Th ophileD
-
He turns as a rule through the March coolD
Where the noisy fish wives callD
And his compliment pays to the Belle Th r seF
As she knits in her dusky stallD
-
There's a letter to drop at the locksmith's shopG
And Toto the locksmith's nieceH
Has jubilant hopes for the Cur gropesH
In his tails for a pain d' piceH
-
There's a little dispute with a merchant of fruitI
Who is said to be heterodoxH
That will ended be with a Ma foi ouiJ
And a pinch from the Cur 's boxH
-
There is also a word that no one heardK
To the furrier's daughter LouD
And a pale cheek fed with a flickering redL
And a Bon Dieu garde M'sieuH
-
But a grander way for the Sous Pr fetL
And a bow for Ma'am'selle AnneM
And a mock off hat to the Notary's catL
And a nod to the SacristanM
-
For ever through life the Cur goesH
With a smile on his kind old faceH
With his coat worn bare and his straggling hairC
And his green umbrella caseH
