A Legacy. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH DIDI DDDD

Ah Postumus we all must goA
This keen North Easter nips my shoulderB
My strength begins to fail I knowA
You find me olderB
-
I've made my Will Dear faithful friendC
My Muse's friend and not my purse'sD
Who still would hear and still commendC
My tedious versesD
-
How will you live of these deprivedE
I've learned your candid soul The venalF
The sordid friend had scarce survivedE
A test so penalF
-
But you Nay nay 'tis so The restG
Are not as you you hide your meritH
You more than all deserve the bestG
True friends inheritH
-
Not gold that hearts like yours despiseD
Not spacious dirt your own expressionI
No but the rarer dearer prizeD
The Life's ConfessionI
-
You catch my thought What Can't you guessD
You you alone admired my CantosD
I've left you P my whole MSD
In three portmanteausD
