I Must Not Fear Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCC DEFGH AIIJJ KLLMM NOOPP QRRSS

I must not fearA
for fear is a shadow that whispers liesB
a thief in the night stealing calm from skiesB
It creeps it claws it binds the soulC
a phantom echo a blackened holeC
-
Fear is the mind killerD
the venom that taints the well of thoughtE
a poison that leaves the spirit caughtF
in webs of doubt in chains unseenG
a tempest roaring where peace has beenH
-
But I will face my fearA
standing steadfast beneath its stormI
Let its winds howl its thunder deformI
I will not cower I will not fleeJ
I am the storm the storm is meJ
-
I will permit it to passK
like rain through the roots like wind through the treesL
a fleeting moment a breath on the seasL
Its power wanes as it courses throughM
a shadow dissolving in the morning dewM
-
And when it has goneN
I will turn the inner eye to traceO
its broken path its hollowed spaceO
Where fear once dwelled there will be noneP
the night recedes the battle is wonP
-
Only I remainQ
a vessel of strength a beacon of lightR
unshaken untamed a spirit of mightR
For fear is fleeting a ghost to defyS
and I am eternal as stars in the skyS
