| The harvest once meant for the nation's need | C |
| Now lines the coffers of insatiable greed | C |

| Its pulse falters in the poisoned air | D |
| I paid your passage bought your reign | E |
| Anointed the crown to shield my gain | E |
| While voices cry beneath the strain | E |
| My triumph echoes through their pain | E |

Poet's note: This poem was motivated from the repeated fall of the national grid in Nigeria. I use it to point out that the issue with Nigeria is greed. The challenges we suffer in Nigeria cause by nothing than selfishness.
