The Spirit Of Shakespeare Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEDEDAA

Thy greatest knew thee Mother Earth unsouredA
He knew thy sons He probed from hell to hellB
Of human passions but of love defloweredA
His wisdom was not for he knew thee wellB
Thence came the honeyed corner at his lipsC
The conquering smile wherein his spirit sailsD
Calm as the God who the white sea wave whipsC
Yet full of speech and intershifting talesD
Close mirrors of us thence had he the laughE
We feel is thine broad as ten thousand beevesD
At pasture thence thy songs that winnow chaffE
From grain bid sick Philosophy's last leavesD
Whirl if they have no response they enforcedA
To fatten Earth when from her soul divorcedA
