Rhyme Scheme: ABACDBADACD EAEFEAEEAFE GAGCGAGGCCG CGCEGGCGEEG

Never O neverA
Since dewy sweet FloraB
Was ravished by ZephyrA
Was such a thing heardC
In the valleys so hollowD
Till rosy AuroraB
Uprising as everA
Bright Phosphor to followD
Pale Phoebe to severA
Was caught like a birdC
To the breast of ApolloD
-
Wildly she fluttersE
And flushes all overA
With passionate muttersE
Of shame to the hushF
Of his amorous whispersE
But O such a loverA
Must win when he uttersE
Thro' rosy red lispersE
The pains that discoverA
The wishes that gushF
From the torches of HesperusE
-
One finger just touchingG
The Orient chamberA
Unflooded the gushingG
Of light that illumedC
All her lustrous unveilingG
On clouds of glow amberA
Her limbs richly blushingG
She lay sweetly wailingG
In odours that gloomedC
On the God as he bloomedC
O'er her loveliness palingG
-
Great Pan in his covertC
Beheld the rare glisteningG
The cry of the love hurtC
The sigh and the kissE
Of the latest close minglingG
But love thought he listeningG
Will not do a dove hurtC
I know and a tinglingG
Latent with blissE
Prickt thro' him I wisE
For the Nymph he was singlingG
