The Point Of Taste Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEFCD

Unhappy poets of a sunken primeA
You to reviewers are as ball to batB
They shadow you with Homer knock you flatB
With Shakespeare bludgeons brainingly sublimeA
On you the excommunicates of RhymeA
Because you sing not in the living FatB
The wiry whizz of an intrusive gnatB
Is verse that shuns their self producing timeA
Sound them their clocks with loud alarum trumpC
Or watches ticking temporal at their fobsD
You win their pleased attention But bright GodE
O' the lyre what bully drawlers they applaudF
Rather for us a tavern catch and bumpC
Chorus where Lumpkin with his Giles hobnobsD
