Song (untitled #11) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE GHHG IJJI IKKI LIIL IIII

The daisy now is out upon the greenA
And in the grassy lanesB
The child of April rainsB
The sweet fresh hearted violet is smelt and loved unseenA
-
Along the brooks and meads the daffodilC
Its yellow richness spreadsD
And by the fountain headsD
Of rivers cowslips cluster round and over every hillC
-
The crocus and the primrose may have goneE
The snowdrop may be lowF
But soon the purple glowF
Of hyacinths will fill the copse and lilies watch the dawnE
-
And in the sweetness of the budding yearG
The cuckoo's woodland callH
The skylark over allH
And then at eve the nightingale is doubly sweet and dearG
-
My soul is singing with the happy birdsI
And all my human powersJ
Are blooming with the flowersJ
My foot is on the fields and downs among the flocks and herdsI
-
Deep in the forest where the foliage droopsI
I wander fill'd with joyK
Again as when a boyK
The sunny vistas tempt me on with dim delicious hopesI
-
The sunny vistas dim with hurrying shadeL
And old romantic hazeI
Again as in past daysI
The spirit of immortal Spring doth every sense pervadeL
-
Oh do not say that this will ever ceaseI
This joy of woods and fieldsI
This youth that nature yieldsI
Will never speak to me in vain tho' soundly rapt in peaceI
