Progress Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACBBABDEBDE

In Progress you have little faith say youA
Men will maintain dear interests wreak base hatesB
By force and gentle women choose their matesB
Most amorously from the gilded fighting crewA
The human heart Bellona's mad hallooC
Will ever fire to dicing with the FatesB
'Now at this time ' says History 'those two StatesB
Stood ready their past wrestling to renewA
They sharpened arms and showed them like the brutesB
Whose haunches quiver But a yellow blightD
Fell on their waxing harvests They deferredE
The bloody settlement of their disputesB
Till God should bless them better ' They did rightD
And naming Progress both shall have the wordE
