Outside The Crowd Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABCADEFGDF

To sit on History in an easy chairA
Still rivalling the wild hordes by whom 'twas writB
Sure this beseems a race of laggard witB
Unwarned by those plain letters scrawled on airA
If more than hands' and armsful be our shareA
Snatch we for substance we see vapours flitB
Have we not heard derision infiniteC
When old men play the youth to chase the snareA
Let us be belted athletes matched for foesD
Or stand aloof the great BenevolentE
The Lord of Lands no Robber birds annexF
Where Justice holds the scales with pure intentG
Armed to support her sword lest we composeD
That Chapter for the historic word on WrecksF
