Modern Love Xxiv: The Misery Is Greater Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDBBDEFFEBGGB

The misery is greater as I liveA
To know her flesh so pure so keen her senseB
That she does penance now for no offenceB
Save against Love The less can I forgiveC
The less can I forgive though I adoreD
That cruel lovely pallor which surroundsB
Her footsteps and the low vibrating soundsB
That come on me as from a magic shoreD
Low are they but most subtle to find outE
The shrinking soul Madam 'tis understoodF
When women play upon their womanhoodF
It means a Season gone And yet I doubtE
But I am duped That nun like look waylaysB
My fancy Oh I do but wait a signG
Pluck out the eyes of pride thy mouth to mineG
Never though I die thirsting Go thy waysB
