Love's Grave Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFFGHFFH

Mark where the pressing wind shoots javelin likeA
Its skeleton shadow on the broad back'd waveB
Here is a fitting spot to dig Love's graveB
Here where the ponderous breakers plunge and strikeA
And dart their hissing tongues high up the sandC
In hearing of the ocean and in sightD
Of those ribb'd wind streaks running into whiteD
If I the death of Love had deeply plann'dC
I never could have made it half so sureE
As by the unblest kisses which upbraidF
The full waked sense or failing that degradeF
'Tis morning but no morning can restoreG
What we have forfeited I see no sinH
The wrong is mix'd In tragic life God wotF
No villain need be Passions spin the plotF
We are betray'd by what is false withinH

Karen : I found a line from this poem quoted in one of Taylor Caldwell's books. The last few lines, to be precise.
