Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECBB'Tis true the wisdom that my mind exacts | A |
Through contemplation from a heart unbent | B |
By many tempests may be stained and rent | B |
The summer flies it mightily attracts | A |
Yet they seem choicer than your sons of facts | A |
Which scarce give breathing of the sty's content | B |
For their diurnal carnal nourishment | B |
Which treat with Nature in official pacts | A |
The deader body Nature could proclaim | C |
Much life have neither Let the heavens of wrath | D |
Rattle then both scud scattering to froth | E |
But during calms the flies of idle aim | C |
Less put the spirit out less baffle thirst | B |
For light than swinish grunters blest or curst | B |
