Beauty Rothraut (from Moricke) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCBDDB EBFFFDDB BBD GHB IBBBBBB

What is the name of King Ringang's daughterA
Rohtraut Beauty RohtrautB
And what does she do the livelong dayB
Since she dare not knit and spin alwayC
O hunting and fishing is ever her playB
And heigh that her huntsman I might beD
I'd hunt and fish right merrilyD
Be silent heartB
-
And it chanced that after this some timeE
Rohtraut Beauty RohtrautB
The boy in the Castle has gained accessF
And a horse he has got and a huntsman's dressF
To hunt and to fish with the merry PrincessF
And O that a king's son I might beD
Beauty Rohtraut I love so tenderlyD
Hush hush my heartB
-
Under a grey old oak they satB
Beauty Beauty RohtrautB
She laughs 'Why look you so slyly at meD
If you have heart enough come kiss me '-
Cried the breathless boy 'kiss thee '-
But he thinks kind fortune has favoured my youthG
And thrice he has kissed Beauty Rohtraut's mouthH
Down down mad heartB
-
Then slowly and silently they rode homeI
Rohtraut Beauty RohtrautB
The boy was lost in his delightB
'And wert thou Empress this very nightB
I would not heed or feel the blightB
Ye thousand leaves of the wild wood wistB
How Beauty Rohtraut's mouth I kiss'dB
Hush hush wild heart '-
