A Later Alexandrian Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBABCCDBD

An inspiration caught from dubious huesA
Filled him and mystic wrynesses he chasedB
For they lead farther than the single facedB
Wave subtler promise when desire pursuesA
The moon of cloud discoloured was his MuseA
His pipe the reed of the old moaning wasteB
Love was to him with anguish fast enlacedB
And Beauty where she walked blood shot the dewsA
Men railed at such a singer women thrilledB
Responsively he sang not Nature's ownC
Divinest but his lyric had a toneC
As 'twere a forest echo of her voiceD
What barrenly they yearn for seemed distilledB
From what they dread who do through tears rejoiceD
