Up In The Tree Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB BCBC CDCD DEDE

What would you see if I took you upA
My little aerie stairB
You would see the sky like a clear blue cupA
Turned upside down in the airB
-
What would you do up my aerie stairB
In my little nest on the treeC
With cry upon cry you would ripple the airB
To get at what you would seeC
-
And what would you reach in the top of the treeC
To still your grasping griefD
Not a star would you clutch of all you would seeC
You would gather just one green leafD
-
But when you had lost your greedy griefD
Content to see from afarE
Your hand it would hold a withering leafD
But your heart a shining starE
