Truth, Not Form! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCCDI came upon a fountain on my way | A |
When it was hot and sat me down to drink | B |
Its sparkling stream when all around the brink | B |
I spied full many vessels made of clay | A |
Whereon were written not without display | A |
In deep engraving or with merely ink | B |
The blessings which each owner seemed to think | B |
Would light on him who drank with each alway | A |
I looked so hard my eyes were looking double | C |
Into them all but when I came to see | D |
That they were filthy each in his degree | D |
I bent my head though not without some trouble | C |
To where the little waves did leap and bubble | C |
And so I journeyed on most pleasantly | D |
