Translations. - The Mother By The Cradle. (from Claudius.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CBCB DDEE BFBF

Sleep baby boy sleep sweet secureA
Thy father's very miniatureA
That art thou though thy father goesB
And says that thou hast not his noseB
-
This very moment here was heC
His face o'er thine did poseB
And said Much has he sure of meC
But no 'tis not my noseB
-
I think myself it is too smallD
But it is his nose after allD
For if thy nose his nose be notE
Whence came the nose that thou hast gotE
-
Sleep boy thy father only choseB
To tease me that's his partF
Never you mind about his noseB
But see you have his heartF
