Translations. - The Hundred And Thirtieth Psalm. (luther's Song-book.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDA EFEGHHA IBIBAAJ KBKBLLA EMNMAAO

From trouble deep I cry to theeA
Lord God hear thou my cryingB
Thy gracious ear oh turn to meA
Open it to thy sighingB
For if thou mean'st to look uponC
The wrong and evil that is doneD
Who Lord can stand before theeA
-
With thee availeth nought but graceE
To cover trespass mortalF
Our good deeds cannot show their faceE
In best life they come short allG
Before thee no one glory canH
And so must tremble every manH
And live by thy grace onlyA
-
Hope therefore in my God will II
On my deserts nought foundingB
Upon him shall my heart relyI
All on his goodness groundingB
What his true word doth promise meA
My comfort shall and refuge beA
That will I always wait forJ
-
And if it last into the nightK
And last again till morningB
Yet shall my heart hope in God's mightK
Despair and foresight scorningB
Thus Israel must keep his postL
For he was born of the Holy GhostL
And for his God must tarryA
-
Although our sin be great God's graceE
Is greater to relieve usM
His hand from helping nothing staysN
Howe'er the hurt be grievousM
The shepherd good alone is HeA
Who will at last set Israel freeA
From all and every trespassO
