Translations. - Milton's Italian Poems. I Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDEDCE

O Lady fair whose honoured name doth graceA
Green vale and noble ford of Rheno's streamB
Of all worth void the man I surely deemB
Whom thy fair soul enamoureth not apaceA
When softly self revealed to time and spaceA
By actions sweet with which thy will doth teemB
And fair gifts that Love's bow and arrows seemB
But are the flowers that crown thy perfect raceA
When thou dost lightsome talk or gladsome singC
A power to draw the hill trees rooted hardD
The doors of eyes and ears let that man keepE
Who knows himself unworthy thy regardD
Grace from above alone him help can bringC
That Passion in his heart strike not too deepE
