To A Certain Critic Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD

Such guests as you sir were not in my mindA
When I my homely dish with care designedA
'Twas certain humble souls I would have fedB
Who do not turn from wholesome milk and breadB
You came slow trotting on the narrow wayC
O'erturned the food and trod it in the clayC
Then low with discoid nostrils sniffing curtD
Cried Sorry cook why what a mess of dirtD
