The Thank-offering Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABAC DEFEFE GHGHGH IHIHIH

My Lily snatches not my giftA
Glad is she to be fedB
But to her mouth she will not liftA
The piece of broken breadB
Till on my lips unerring swiftA
The morsel she has laidC
-
This is her grace before her foodD
This her libation pouredE
Even thus his offering Aaron goodF
Heaved up to thank the LordE
When for the people all he stoodF
And with a cake adoredE
-
So Father every gift of thineG
I offer at thy kneeH
Else take I not the love divineG
With which it comes to meH
Not else the offered grace is mineG
Of sharing life with theeH
-
Yea all my being I would bringI
Yielding it utterlyH
Not yet a full possessed thingI
Till heaved again to theeH
Away my self away and clingI
To him that makes thee beH
