The Sweeper Of The Floor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCABBADEDFEE

Methought that in a solemn church I stoodA
Its marble acres worn with knees and feetB
Lay spread from door to door from street to streetB
Midway the form hung high upon the roodC
Of him who gave his life to be our goodA
Beyond priests flitted bowed and murmured meetB
Among the candles shining still and sweetB
Men came and went and worshipped as they couldA
And still their dust a woman with her broomD
Bowed to her work kept sweeping to the doorE
Then saw I slow through all the pillared gloomD
Across the church a silent figure comeF
Daughter it said thou sweepest well my floorE
It is the Lord I cried and saw no moreE
