The Old Castle Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBCBCDDCCEFCEF

The brother knew well the castle oldA
Every closet each outlook fairB
Every turret and bartizan boldA
Every chamber garnished or bareB
The brother was out in the heavenly airB
Little ones lost the starry wayC
Wandered down the dungeon stairB
The brother missed them and on the clayC
Of the dungeon floor he found them allD
Up they jumped when they heard him callD
He led the little ones into the dayC
Out and up to the sunshine gayC
Up to the father's own door sillE
In at the father's own room doorF
There to be merry and work and playC
There to come and go at their willE
Good boys and girls to be lost no moreF
