The Gospel Women 10: Pilate's Wife Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Why came in dreams the low born manA
Between thee and thy restB
In vain thy whispered message ranA
Though justice was its questB
-
Did some young ignorant angel dareC
Not knowing what must beD
Or blind with agony of careC
To fly for help to theeD
-
I know not Rather I believeE
Thou nobler than thy spouseF
His rumoured grandeur didst receiveE
And sit with pondering browsG
-
Until thy maidens' gathered taleH
With possible marvel teemsI
Thou sleepest and the prisoner paleH
Returneth in thy dreamsI
-
Well mightst thou suffer things not fewJ
For his sake all the nightK
In pale eclipse he suffers whoJ
Is of the world the lightK
-
Precious it were to know thy dreamL
Of such a one as heD
Perhaps of him we waking deemL
As poor a verityD
