The Gospel Women 07: The Woman Who Came Behind Him In The Crowd Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEG HIHI JCJC KLKL

Near him she stole rank after rankA
She feared approach too loudB
She touched his garment's hem and shrankA
Back in the sheltering crowdB
-
A shame faced gladness thrills her frameC
Her twelve years' fainting prayerD
Is heard at last she is the sameC
As other women thereD
-
She hears his voice He looks aboutE
Ah is it kind or goodF
To drag her secret sorrow outE
Before that multitudeG
-
The eyes of men she dares not meetH
On her they straight must fallI
Forward she sped and at his feetH
Fell down and told him allI
-
To the one refuge she hath flownJ
The Godhead's burning flameC
Of all earth's women she aloneJ
Hears there the tenderest nameC
-
Daughter he said be of good cheerK
Thy faith hath made thee wholeL
With plenteous love not healing mereK
He comforteth her soulL
