Sonnet. About Jesus. Xv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDEE

Men may pursue the Beautiful while theyA
Love not the Good the life of all the FairB
Keen eyed for beauty they will find it whereB
The darkness of their eyes hath power to slayA
The vision of the good in beauty's rayA
Though fruits the same life giving branches bearB
So in a statue they will see the rareB
Beauty of thought moulded of dull crude clayA
While loving joys nor prayer their souls expandC
So Thou didst mould thy thoughts in Life not ArtD
Teaching with human voice and eye and handC
That none the beauty from the truth might partD
Their oneness in thy flesh we joyous hailE
The Holy of Holies' cloud illumined veilE
