Sonnet. About Jesus. Xiv. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBBCDDEEDDAll divine artists humble filial | A |
Turn therefore unto Thee the poet's sun | B |
First born of God's creation only done | B |
When from Thee centre form the veil did fall | C |
And Thou symbol of all heart coronal | C |
The highest Life with noblest Form made one | B |
To do thy Father's bidding hadst begun | B |
The living germ in this strange planet ball | C |
Even as thy form in mind of striving saint | D |
So as the one Ideal beyond taint | D |
Thy radiance unto all some shade doth yield | E |
In every splendour shadowy revealed | E |
But when by word or hand Thee one would paint | D |
Power falls down straightway speechless dim eyed faint | D |
