Sonnet. About Jesus. Xiv. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBBCDDEEDD

All divine artists humble filialA
Turn therefore unto Thee the poet's sunB
First born of God's creation only doneB
When from Thee centre form the veil did fallC
And Thou symbol of all heart coronalC
The highest Life with noblest Form made oneB
To do thy Father's bidding hadst begunB
The living germ in this strange planet ballC
Even as thy form in mind of striving saintD
So as the one Ideal beyond taintD
Thy radiance unto all some shade doth yieldE
In every splendour shadowy revealedE
But when by word or hand Thee one would paintD
Power falls down straightway speechless dim eyed faintD
