Sonnet. About Jesus. Vii. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAACCADEDEDE

If Thou hadst been a Poet On my heartA
The thought dashed It recoiled as with the giftB
Light blinded and joy saddened so bereftC
And the hot fountain tears with sudden startA
Thronged to mine eyes as if with that same smartA
The husk of vision had in twain been cleftC
Its hidden soul in naked beauty leftC
And we beheld thee Nature as thou artA
O Poet Poet Poet at thy feetD
I should have lien sainted with listeningE
My pulses answering aye in rhythmic beatD
Each parting word that with melodious wingE
Moved on creating still my being sweetD
My soul thy harp thy word the quivering stringE
