Sonnet. About Jesus. Iv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCCD

If Thou hadst been a painter what fresh looksA
What shining of pent glories what new graceB
Had burst upon us from the great Earth's faceB
How had we read as in new languaged booksA
Clear love of God in lone retreating nooksA
A lily as thy hand its form would traceB
Were plainly seen God's child of lower raceB
And O my heart blue hills and grassy brooksA
Thy soul lay to all undulations bareC
Answering in waves Each morn the sun did riseD
And God's world woke beneath life giving skiesD
Thou sawest clear thy Father's meanings thereC
'Mid Earth's Ideal and expressions rareC
The ideal Man with the eternal eyesD
